Control of Rats

Rat DamageBrown rats, (the Norway rat), is the most common rat found in Ireland.  They can be up to 20 inches from nose to tail in length.

The female can breed from 5 weeks old and can do this 5-6 times a year having up to 14 babies.

RatsRats can cause numerous diseases, including “Weils disease”, “Q Fever” and “Bird hemorrhagic fever”.

Brown rats like to live in groups and usually groom each other.  They also have a hierarchy system, are extremely territorial and protect their area.
